Shoes. They have the ability to inflict feelings inside us that we never knew existed. If you love shoes like we do, you know what we are referring to. The moment when we see a pair that is so gorgeous we can’t help but have butterflies flying all over our bodies, from the heart all the way to our toes. For something that we put on our feet and stomp that dirty pavement with, it’s bizarre how we love them so much, and are sometimes willing to spend a fortune on them.
Regardless of how many pairs of shoes we have, there are always those two or three pairs we always wear, either for the season, or year round. Those are the real heroes of our shoe collections – not only do they look great, they are versatile, and are always ready to carry us to wherever we need to go. While the rest of the collection sits pretty in our shoe closets for admiration, these most worn shoes are our “sole-mates”.
You may notice 99% of our most worn shoes are in neutrals, and we swear we didn’t plan this in advance! This just shows how versatile a pair of perfect nude/beige/tan shoes is for any style and closet!
K. Jacques Saint Tropez Barigoule in Tan
My most worn shoes of all time, literally of all time, are my K. Jacques Barigoule sandals. I did have to get them stretched, as they weren’t wide enough for my feet, which never happens. But afterwards they fit like gloves. Whenever summer comes around, I slip into these oldies but goodies. They are also the perfect vacation shoes as they are extremely comfortable and I can walk miles and miles in them. Plus the tan is the perfect shade of tan, and goes with any outfit. I wouldn’t know what to do without them in my life! You can customize your own pair on the K. Jacques website!
Alexander Wang Lovisa in Bandage
When I need something dressier, I whip out my trusty Alexander Wang Lovisa pointed pumps in Off White, which are also my go to office shoes. I never knew how polished a pair of white pointed-toe can make your outfit look until I got these babies (one of our classic items to invest in!). Plus they are the perfect amount of height without killing my feet, I even walked blocks and blocks in them in New York doing store visits and my feet were perfectly fine. I love them so much I ended up getting them in Black and Nubuck!
Alexander Wang Antonia in Blush Suede
As for the moment, I’ve been sporting my Alexander Wang Antonia in Blush suede to all the summer weddings and dinner dates with the hubby. I scored them on Shopbop at half off which was amazing. I’ve always been a fan of Alexander Wang’s shoes as they are ridiculously comfortable even with the heels, which makes them perfect for a night of wedding dancing.
Valentino Rockstud Embellished Textured-Leather Flats in Red
One of the shoes I’ve been wearing a lot this summer are my Valentino Rockstud red flats. A pop of red in the outfit makes it instantly chic! I love how you can literally throw them on with the most basic tee shirt and jeans and they completely make the outfit. They are also perfect for a summer day when you need to cover up your toes that are over due for a pedi! After a lot of back and forth I decided on red over my usual black and I’m so glad I did, the color is perfect for summer but I can also transition them into fall, which unfortunately is coming faster than I’d like to admit!
Aquazzura Eddie 105 in Beige Suede
You can’t make it through summer without the perfect nude heel. This summer I was so psyched to find one in the Aquzzara Eddie. I literally wear them most of the week. Because they are so understated they are the perfect complement to some of my louder summer outfits (I just can’t resist a bright floral pattern in the summer!!!) They literally just look like part of my legs! Although the heel height is a little on the high side, because of the almost bootie like construction they have a lot of support, so they are surprisingly comfortable!
Louise et Cie Abri Pointy Toe Ghillie Flats in Bone
I wear business casual Mondays to Fridays and have to travel a lot so I’ve been wearing a lot of flats lately to work. These shoes are my current obsession and I have been able to pair these shoes with pants and dresses. I got them as a birthday gift and I’ve pretty much tried to wear them almost everyday. The style is very “on trend” and the color makes it easy to pair with anything.
Adidas Stan Smith in Copper Kettle
On the weekends, I tend to sport sneakers a lot more than I used to. We are having an awesome summer in Chicago and I enjoy taking my kids to the park or going on bike rides with them and it’s more comfortable for me to be in sneakers. These are my weekend go to sneakers. I just think they are fun and different and usually sport them with either ripped jeans or some high waist denim shorts.
Ivanka Trump Chic Flat in Blush Patent and Gold Snake
These flats have been featured on the blog as part of my newest obsessions. These two pairs are very comfortable and pretty much go with anything I wear that it’s sometimes difficult to pick between the two…!
Christian Louboutin Cross Me Platform Sandals in Snakeskin and Leather
I’ve been sporting my Christian Louboutin white platform heels this summer. It was initially purchased for my wedding, as the heel is a blue python snakeskin texture for my “something blue”. When I tried them on in the store, my brother commented that this pair looks unique with a bit of a funky flair that I can sport even after the wedding. It can be dressed up or down, and throughout this summer, I have been wearing it with a simple tee and jeans so it is not over the top. My favorite is with overalls (both blue and white of course since white is my favorite color!) paired with a collared shirt. It looks different but in a fun way! Unfortunately this style is sold our everywhere, but you can find similar options below.
Christian Louboutin So Kate Patent Pump in Nude
Another pair that I love are Nude shoes as it just matches almost everything! The So Kate pumps also by Christian Louboutin was a pair I had my eyes on for the longest time. After being sold out every time I wanted to purchase, I finally got my hands on them when I was in Hong Kong for Renee’s wedding (check out our HK travel guide)! I was super excited they were available in my size even if I had to pay a little more!! After you break them in, you just can’t help but wear them over and over even if when they are not the most comfortable. Pain is beauty; but So Kate just looks classy, appropriate for work, and makes the outfit.
